Sushi Nakao is a counter-only restaurant in Setagaya's Daizawa neighborhood, a one-minute walk from Ikenoue Station on the Tokyu Inokashira Line and about six minutes by train from Shibuya. Seating is limited to seven guests, and the restaurant operates on a full-reservation system with a minimum lead time of three days.

The chef sources seafood personally at Tsukiji or Toyosu, selecting items based on what the market offers that day. Fish is cured with vinegar and aged before service, a method the restaurant applies across its sushi and seasonal dishes. The Premium Omakase Course runs ¥25,000 (tax included) and includes five seasonal small dishes—appetizer, sashimi, cold dish, grilled dish, and a steamed course—followed by fifteen pieces of nigiri and miso soup, twenty items in total. Two shorter menus are also offered: a ¥20,000 anniversary course with two small dishes and fifteen nigiri, and a ¥16,000 nigiri-focused course of fifteen pieces with miso soup.

Drinks include sake, shochu, wine, beer, and soft drinks, with sake pairing available alongside the omakase. The restaurant notes it favors natural and organic ingredients where possible and asks diners to mention allergies or preferences at the time of booking.

Reservations can be made online through TableCheck or by phone; groups of more than five people are asked to call directly. The kitchen is closed on Wednesdays, and remaining days run lunch service from 12:00 to 14:30 and dinner from 17:00 to 22:00.
