TakaHisa sits on the first floor of Banyan Tree Dubai on Bluewaters Island, built around a sushi and Ozaki Beef counter where chefs prepare an omakase course combining Edomae sushi with A5, BMS12 Wagyu. Seafood is sourced from Toyosu Market and imported several times a week; the restaurant also serves Kobe and Matsusaka beef alongside its Ozaki Beef program.
Chef Takashi Namekata leads the sushi side after 15 years with Tokyo's Ukai Group, a Michelin-listed establishment in Tokyo. Executive chef Hisao Ueda, trained in Hokkaido kaiseki cooking and based in Dubai since 2011, oversees the Wagyu program and holds a Golden Visa recognizing his expertise as a Wagyu Beef Master. An adjoining Robata restaurant, operated by the same company, reopened on the terrace in 2024 and added two air-conditioned private rooms after 2025 renovations, offering yakiniku- and shabu-shabu-style Wagyu.
TakaHisa is the only Japanese restaurant listed in the 2025 Michelin Guide Dubai and holds 3 Toques in the 2025 Gault & Millau UAE guide, which also named it Home-Grown Restaurant of the Year. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner service daily, an English-language menu, and a private room. Price tier sits at the top of the luxury bracket. From 6pm, a smart elegant dress code applies; shorts, slippers, flip-flops and open-toe shoes are not permitted.
Reservations run through SevenRooms via the restaurant's website.
