Wa Shin occupies a hinoki-wood counter at 222 Stuart St in Boston's Bay Village, where Chef Sky Zheng runs an 18-course Edomae sushi omakase. Zheng trained under Daisuke Nakazawa, who himself trained under Jiro Ono, and spent time at Nakazawa's Michelin-starred New York restaurant before bringing that lineage to Boston. The restaurant is listed in the Michelin guide.

The counter seats small parties — reservations are limited to groups of four or fewer, with larger parties asked to email the restaurant directly. The dinner omakase runs $199 per person at the Chef's Hinoki Counter, with seatings at 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm. Wa Shin also offers a separate dining-room format called Tsunagari, six rounds of three dishes for $185 per person, served at 5pm, 6:30pm, 8pm, and 9:30pm, though a dedicated reserved version of this format is listed as coming soon.

Booking runs through Resy, with reservations released daily at noon Eastern and opened 14 days in advance — a lead time the restaurant describes as its current window. Getting a seat is considered difficult, so booking as soon as the window opens is advisable. The restaurant is closed Sundays and open Monday through Saturday from 5pm to 11pm. English-language menus are available, and a 20% administrative fee is added to every check in place of gratuity, which is neither required nor expected.
