Sushi Dokoro Kou opened in September 2025 on a quiet corner of Sakae in Nagoya's Naka Ward, built around a single nine-seat counter. The restaurant is run by chef Kagawa, who left school after junior high to train in Otaru, Hokkaido, and has spent sixteen years learning the craft of nigiri before opening this small shop under a name his mother left him.

The menu is built around two set courses. The seasonal omakase nigiri runs ¥9,900 and includes an appetizer, sashimi, a cooked dish, nigiri, soup, and a sweet. The Kou course, at ¥15,400, adds a grilled course to the same structure. Both prices are tax included with service charge handled separately. À la carte ordering is also available for those who prefer to build their own meal rather than follow a set course.

A sake pairing is offered alongside the food, described on the restaurant's own materials as all-you-can-drink nihonshu. Seating is counter-only, with no private room, and the menu is in Japanese only, so diners who need English should plan accordingly. Same-day reservations are possible given the small size of the room, though with only nine seats availability is limited.

Reservations can be made by phone at 052-990-4442 or through the restaurant's TableCheck booking link. The restaurant is open from 17:00 to 23:00 daily except Wednesday, when it is closed.
