Sushi Kanesaka occupies a quiet room above Park Lane inside the 45 Park Lane hotel, the first European restaurant from chef Shinji Kanesaka, who trained in Tokyo's Ginza district. The restaurant earned its Michelin star within seven months of opening and remains Michelin-listed today.

The room centres on a single carved hinoki wood counter with bent-wood chairs, lined by hinoki ice chests once used by Edo-period sushi chefs to preserve fish. Seating is counter-only, with a private room also available, and the host, Nanami-san, oversees service in the omotenashi tradition. Dinner runs Tuesday to Saturday across two sittings, 6pm and 8.30pm, with no lunch service; the kitchen is closed Monday and Sunday.

The omakase format leaves the selection, order and pace of courses to the chef, following Edomae technique where fish is cured to sharpen its natural flavour rather than masked with heavy seasoning. A sake pairing featuring Japanese whisky and sake is offered alongside the courses. The menu is in English, and because dishes depend on the day's ingredients, the restaurant does not accommodate menu modifications; it considers the experience suitable for guests aged 12 and above. Dress code asks for no sportswear or shorts.

Reservations are handled through SevenRooms and are considered hard to secure. Pricing sits at the top tier. The restaurant is not cash-only, and the address is 45 Park Lane, London; phone 020 7493 4545.
